Adelina 'Dee' Emery

Adelina “Dee” Emery, 87, of Peterborough died peacefully on Thursday December 15, 2011 at SummerHill Assisted Living on Old Dublin Road in Peterborough, following a period of failing health. She was born June 26, 1924 in Peterborough, daughter of the late Michael and Maria (Bocchino) Boccelli and has been a life long resident of this community. She graduated from the former Peterborough High School with high honors. As a young girl she worked at her father’s cobbler shop and later she was employed as a secretary for the American Guernsey Cattle Club for several years. Most of her adult life however was spent as a loving mother and grandmother, caring for her family. “Dee” enjoyed painting, sewing and all kinds of crafts. She loved word search puzzles and was a wonderful cartoon doodler. Her husband of fifty one years, Raymond O. Emery died on September 7, 2001. Survivors include her two daughters Valerie Emery of Los Gatos, CA. and Rae Ann Morgan of Tucson, AZ; two sons Stephen Emery of Wilmington, MA and Edward “Jake” Emery of Rindge; 14 grandchildren and one great granddaughter; her sister Mafalda (Boccelli) Ames of Peterborough; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a granddaughter Holly Emery.

As per her request, there will be no calling hours.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11:00AM in St. Peter’s Church of the Divine Mercy Parish, 18 Vine Street, Peterborough. Rev Gerald Belanger, Pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Peterborough.
