Agnes M. Coffey, 87, of Main Street in Rindge NH died Friday March 25, 2011 at the Good Shepherd Nursing Center in Jaffrey following a period of failing health.
She was born May 7, 1923 in Gardner MA, daughter of the late William and Daisy (Johnson) Gravel. She was raised in Baldwinville (MA) and had attended Baldwinville schools; where she had played varsity basketball while still in junior high school.
Mrs Coffey has been a resident of Rindge for the past forty -nine years and had previously lived in Baldwinville for thirty-five years.
Mrs. Coffey was a retired employee of the New Hampshire Ball Bearing Co in Peterborough and had previously worked for Honeywell Corp. also in Peterborough.
She enjoyed reading and years ago was interested in Ceramics.
She and her family loved to go camping, and traveling throughout New England.
She is survived by her husband, whom she married on July 31, 1965, Thomas M. Coffey of Rindge and her daughter Lorraine Gleason also of Rindge.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister Irene Helstein of Mason NH.
Burial will be in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street in Winchendon, MA.
Calling hours will be held on Monday March 28, 2011 from 7:00 to 9:00PM at the Cournoyer Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 33 River Street, (Route 202 south) in Jaffrey NH.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10:00AM at St. Patrick Church, 89 Main Street, Jaffrey. Rev. Wilfred Deschamps, pastor, will officiate.
