Greenville, NH – Alan C. Wright, 63, of Greenville died peacefully and unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, December 31, 2014.
Alan was born in Peterborough, NH on February 17, 1951, the son of Charles and Sylvia (Kangas) Wright. He was raised in New Ipswich and graduated from Mascenic High School in 1969. Alan had played basketball while at Mascenic and earned the Most Valuable Player award for the 1968-1969 season.
Alan had worked at Simon Saw in Fitchburg, Mass before going to work at Hendrix Wire & Cable as a Machinist. He had been working there for 31 years.
Alan enjoyed spending time with family and granddaughters, and was an avid bowler. He was known for his contagious laughter and great sense of humor. He also liked spending quiet times hunting and fishing, and was truly at peace outdoors enjoying nature’s beauty.
Alan was predeceased by his father in 1993 and by his longtime companion, Barbara Brigham in 2009.
In addition to his mother, Sylvia Wright of Greenville, NH, he is also survived by his 2 daughters, Lori Wright of Ludlow, VT and Tammy Wright of Jaffrey, NH; his 2 granddaughters, Rosalee and Lola Saccardo; his 2 brothers, David Wright and his wife Ellen of Jaffrey, and Brian Wright and his wife Debbie of New Ipswich, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Memorial Service for Alan will be held on Friday, January 16, 2015 at 5:30pm at the Cournoyer Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 33 River Street, (Rte. 202) Jaffrey, NH 03452. Pastor Robert Hakala from Christian Outreach Church in Rindge will officiate.
Family and friends will continue to celebrate Alan’s life at the John Humiston American Legion Post #11 Hall on Webster Street in Jaffrey from 7:00 to 11:00pm.
Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Alan’s name to Souhegan Ambulance Service, PO Box 95, New Ipswich, NH 03071.
