Albert Lapinsky, 88, of Dublin, NH died Saturday, September 19, 2015 at the Catholic Medical Center in Manchester after a period of failing health.
Mr. Lapinsky was born in Athol, MA on March 2, 1927, son of the late Joseph and Stella (Gesum) Lapinsky. He attended Athol schools and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in Germany with the 9th Field Artillery Battalion.
After the service, he returned to the Athol area and worked in several different job positions. He moved to New Hampshire in 1961. Mr. Lapinsky worked at Quality Pad Co. in South Gardner for 23 years, and then worked for Yankee Magazine for 15 years before retiring in 1989.
Mr. Lapinsky was an active member of the Monadnock Highlands Post #8836 VFW in Marlborough, NH, and a member of the John Humiston Post #11 American Legion in Jaffrey briefly before joining the Cheeney-Armstrong Post #5 in Peterborough, NH where he was recently recognized for over 35 years of continuous membership.
In his free time, Mr. Lapinsky enjoyed antique cars and flying single engine airplanes. He was a member of the Monadnock Oldies Car Club in Jaffrey and the Bond Wellness Center. He also liked reading, golfing, gardening and fishing in addition to spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Lapinsky was preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph and Stanley, and by his sister Frances Coolidge.
Mr. Lapinsky is survived by his wife of 54 years, Eleanor (Myhaver) Lapinsky of Dublin; his 2 daughter, Theresa Valeri of Orange, MA and Judith Hennessey of Jaffrey; his son, Stephen Lapinsky of Jaffrey; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
At Mr. Lapinsky’s request, there will be no calling hours.
A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at 1:00PM in the family lot at Dublin Cemetery. Rev. Wilfred Deschamps, Pastor of Saint Patrick Church in Jaffrey will officiate. Full Military Honors will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mr. Lapinsky’s name to the charity of one’s choice.
