Alfred R. Paradise

Alfred R. Paradise, 90, a lifelong resident of Jaffrey, died peacefully at the Monadnock Community Hospital on Friday, November 13, 2015.

Alfred was born on December 27, 1924 in Jaffrey, son of the late Oliver and Delvinia (Blair) Paradise and he attended local schools. For most of his life, he worked for local logging businesses and had worked for the Town of Jaffrey as he approached his retirement.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed tending to his garden. Alfred was married to Margaret (Elvis) Paradise; she predeceased him on March 12, 1996.

Alfred is survived by his daughter, Elsie (Paradise) Miner of Jaffrey; his granddaughters, Dena and her husband Joe Catan of Southbury, CT and Jen and her husband Bob Valaika of Park City, Utah; his three grandsons, Ed Huckle and his wife Rachel Savitt of Culver City, CA, Micah and Jenn Miner of Winchester, CA, and Lucas Miner of Rindge, NH; his great-grandchildren, Sarah, Gabby and Jack Catan of Southbury, CT, Bobby and Cameron Valaika of Park City, UT, Addy Miner of Winchester, CA and Makenna Miner of Sanford, ME.

At Alfred’s request, the burial services will be private, but a memorial service will be announced when the time is established.
