Alice A. Blanchette, 73, died peacefully at the Glencliff Home on Monday, November 21, 2016.
Alice was born in Peterborough, NH on April 7, 1943, daughter of the late Armand and Ann (Sirois) DeGrandpre. She was a 1961 graduate of Our Lady of Monadnock Academy in Jaffrey. After growing up in Jaffrey, Alice had lived in Keene for many years before eventually moving to Peterborough and Benton, NH.
Alice had been an executive secretary at National Grange Mutual Insurance in Keene and retired after working there for 21 years. She enjoyed reading and volunteering at the Peterborough Library and at Senior Focus as much as she could. Alice was a communicant of Saint Patrick Church in Jaffrey.
Alice will be missed by her sisters, Jean Boutwell of Jaffrey, NH, Joan Wydo of Keene, NH and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard Blanchette on November 22, 1983, and by her brother Felix M. DeGrandpre on August 6, 2013.
Friends and family are invited to calling hours on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Cournoyer Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 33 River Street, (Route 202) Jaffrey.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow calling hours on Tuesday at 11:00 AM in Saint Patrick Church, 89 Main Street, Jaffrey. Rev. Wilfred Deschamps, Pastor of Saint Patrick Church in Jaffrey will officiate. Burial will be in the Spring in Saint Patrick Cemetery in Jaffrey.
In lieu of flowers, Alice’s family would prefer memorial donations made in her name to the Peterborough Town Library, 2 Concord Street, Peterborough, NH 03458
