Alice (Lambert) Pineault, 97, passed away peacefully at Heywood Hospital on December 23, 2024 after a minor fall early that day. Born on August 28, 1927 at home to Wilfred and Aldea (Labrie) Lambert at the Lambert Farm at the end of Jaquith Road in Jaffrey by the doctor arriving by horse and carriage! After the death of her grandfather Dieudonne Lambert her grandmother Olivine sold the first farm and moved into ‘town’ to apartments for several years before her parents missing the farm life with a growing family during the depression and purchased what is known today as the Lambert farm on Gilmore Pond, from her grandfather Emile Labrie in 1935. Alice graduated from Conant High in 1945. Alice and her siblings were known for their voices, tap dancing and participating in many Jaffrey minstrel shows growing up, before the days of TV. Alice married her sweetheart Theodore Pineault of Winchendon MA in 1948 while he was still attending UMass under the GI bill following serving in the Pacific Theatre during WWII.
After Ted’s graduation in 1950 they lived in Winchendon, and other MA locations just starting out including a brief period in Rumford Maine before settling in Manchester NH where they bought a house in 1954 on Wilkins Street and raised a family of six (6) children before moving back to Jaffrey in 1972. To help with the family finances once all the kids were in school, Alice worked in factories in Manchester followed by Ball Bearings in Quality Control in Peterborough until her retirement. Alice and Ted enjoyed their retirements spending winters in Florida along with lots of site seeing trips across the country along with Square Dancing, Gardening, Home care and upkeep. Alice lived in her North Street home for over 50 years until mid this year when she temporarily moved to Broadview Assisted Living in Winchendon MA but insisted in keeping her Jaffrey home, she looked forward to moving back to. The family is forever thankful for the wonderful staff and friends at Broadview in Winchendon MA.
Alice loved her family and cherished her extended Lambert family. She really had a storybook ‘Wonderful Life” ever thankful to all making that possible. She is predeceased by her husband of 48 years Ted; her parents Wilfred & Aldea (Labrie) Lambert; her brothers Arthur, Wilfred “Fid”, Norman Lambert of Jaffrey, brother Bruce Smith, as well as her daughter Donna Waldorf, granddaughter Megan Durant and Megan’s father Dexter. Alice is survived by her daughter: Christine Durant of Merrimack, and by 4 sons Dennis and wife Denise of Auburn, Peter and Susi of Jaffrey, Ken and Gail of Wilmington DE, and Brian of Gilford. Alice leaves her loving 10 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren and one on the way, as well as many nieces and nephews!
Family and Friends are invited to join us for celebration Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick Catholic Church at 11AM on Saturday December 28, 2024, with a burial in the spring. There will be no calling hours, that’s what Alice wanted.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest you send memorial contributions in Alice’s name to Saint Patrick Catholic Church at 87 Main Street, Jaffrey NH 03452.
