Andrew D. Clukey

Andrew ‘Andy’ Clukey, 76, of Fitzwilliam, NH, died peacefully at his home on June 4, 2012 after a brief period of failing health. Andy was born on November 24, 1935 in Danvers, Massachusetts, son of the late Andrew H. and Ann K. (Jennings) Clukey. After graduating from high school, Andy enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1953, and honorably served his country until 1958. After the service, Andy took over as the owner and operator of Andy’s Removal Service, a business his father started. Being skilled in many trades, he also worked in many different capacities through the years. An auto mechanic, carpenter, electrician, plumber, and had enjoyed 14 years of retirement after being the building superintendent at the Parks Recreation Department at the City of Keene, NH. Andy was an avid hunter, fisherman and was formerly a gun dealer. He was a Past Commander of the VFW Post #799 Keene and VFW Post #10289 in Fitzwilliam, as well as Past Commander of the American Legion Post #4 Keene and the American Legion Post #38 in Fitzwilliam. He was civic-minded and had served his community as a selectman for the town of Fitzwilliam. Andy will always be remembered as an honest man with a large heart, and for always seeing the very best in every person he met. Andy was preceded in death by his brother, Edward J. Clukey. He is survived by his wife and best friend of over 30 years, Tracy (Otto) Clukey of Fitzwilliam; his 2 sons, Andrew S. Clukey of St. Thomas, VI and Sgt. David Otto Clukey, who is actively serving with the U.S. Army stationed in Afghanistan, and his wife Jessica, along with their children Ciera May and Tyler Otto Clukey; his daughter, Leah Mazerolle and her husband Shawn of Troy, NH, along with their children, Joshua Mazerolle of Middletown, VA and Brandon Mazerolle of Troy, NH; his brother Henry E. Clukey of Townsend, Tennessee, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice at HCS, P.O. Box 564, Keene, NH 03431.

Family and friends are warmly invited to calling hours on Friday, June 8, 2012 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Cournoyer Funeral Home Cremation Center, 33 River Street, (Route 202) Jaffrey, NH.

A Graveside Service will take place at the family lot in Pine Grove Cemetery at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 9, 2012. Rev. Lynda Tolton, Pastor of the Fitzwilliam Community Church will officiate. Military Honors will be rendered immediately following the service.
