Ann L. Niskala, 60, resident of Jaffrey, NH died on February 19, 2017 at the Elliot Hospital in Manchester, surrounded by her loving family after a long courageous battle with cancer.
She was born on August 8, 1956 in Peterborough, NH, daughter of Pauline Smith and the late James Halfpenny.
Ann was raised and educated in Jaffrey and graduated from Conant High School in 1974.
She married Edward Niskala and have been married for 40 years, raising their family here in Jaffrey, NH.
Ann worked for over 40 + years at the Millipore Corporation, still working as much as her illness would allow her to as a Calibration Technician. She loved her job, but more importantly she loved the people she worked with and made numerous friends over her long career, she will be truly missed by all.
When not working Ann, loved to bake, garden, knit, crochet, and most importantly of all spend time with her loving family.
In addition to Ann’s father she was predeceased by her son, Nathan E. Niskala in 1994.
Survivors include her loving husband, Edward of Jaffrey, her daughter, Lisa and her husband Troy Seppala of Jaffrey, her mother, Pauline Halfpenny of Jaffrey, her siblings; Brothers, David Halfpenny of Jaffrey, Steven Halfpenny of Keene, James Halfpenny of Center Barnstead, NH and her sister, Kathleen Bragg of Hinsdale and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
SERVICES: At the family’s request there will no visiting hours. A funeral service will take place on February 24, 2017 at 12:00 PM in the United Church of Jaffrey, 54 Main Street, Jaffrey with Rev. Mark Koyama officiating. Burial will be in the spring in the family lot, Conant Cemetery, Jaffrey. A celebration of Ann’s life will take place in the spring.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in memory of Ann to the Jaffrey-Rindge Memorial Ambulance, 119 main street, Jaffrey, NH.
