Annie A. Smith

Annie A. Smith, 44, of Rindge died peacefully on Friday August 8, 2014 at her residence surrounded by the love of her family, following a courageous battle with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) sometimes called Lou Gehrig’s Disease.

Annie was born May 29, 1970 in Fitchburg MA, daughter of Michael and Elaine (Seppala) Olson. Annie spent her formative years in Rindge and was a graduate of Conant High School in Jaffrey.
Annie was the owner/operator of Central Square Café in Troy.

Annie cherished the time spent with family and especially with her daughter.

Survivors include her husband of seven years Rocky K Smith of Rindge; her daughter Simone Ardelle (Niemela) Aho and husband Ethan of Rindge; her mother of Rindge; three brothers Carl Olson and wife Christine; Dana Olson and wife Tara; Aaron Olson and wife Kimberly all of Rindge; six sisters Irene Kinnunen and husband Danny of Taylors SC; Ardelle Aho and husband Daniel, Elmi Olin and husband Larry, Naomi Olin and husband Gordy, Ina Hakala and husband Scott, Ramona Bowen and husband Brent all of Rindge; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her father Michael Olson and her brother Andrew Olson.

Family and friends are warmly invited to call on Tuesday August 12, 2014 from 7:00 to 9:00PM at the Christian Outreach Church, 199 North Street in Rindge.

Funeral services will be held at the church on Wednesday at 2:00PM.
Mr. Lars Stenersen will officiate.
Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery on Goddard Road in Rindge..

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made in Annie’s memory to Compassionate Care ALS, 752 West Falmouth Hwy, Falmouth MA 02540.
