Arthur H, Hunt, 88, of Squantum Road in Jaffrey passed away at the Good Shepherd Healthcare Center in Jaffrey, NH on July 16, 2009.
He was born on January 2, 1921 in Winchendon, MA, son of Herman and Hazel (Jackson) Hunt.
Mr. Hunt was a 1939 graduate of Conant High School and a lifelong resident of Jaffrey.
He served in the United States Army during World War II and flew over 50 missions as a waist gunner on a B-17 Flying Fortress in the European Theater of Operations.
He had been a member for over 50 years in both the Jaffrey Memorial VFW Post #5613, and the John Humiston American Legion Post #11 in Jaffrey.
Mr. Hunt retired in 1985 after working for more than 45 years at the W.W. Cross Co. in Jaffrey. From 1954 through 1982, he also was a special duty officer with the Jaffrey Police Department, an employment he thoroughly enjoyed. For leisure moments, he relished the outdoors and spent many hours hunting and fishing.
Mr. Hunt. was predeceased by his sister, Marion (Hunt) Beyer and his brother Donald.
He leaves his brother Richard K. Hunt of Spokane WA, his sister-in-law Marie T. Hunt and niece Dawn Fey of Jaffrey, several other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Burial with full military honors will then take place at the family lot in Conant Cemetery on Stratton Road in Jaffrey.
Calling hours will be on Thursday, July 23, 2009 from1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Cournoyer Funeral Home Cremation Center, 33 River Street, Jaffrey
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m., immediately following calling hours,in the Cournoyer Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. David Forry of Jaffrey will officiate.
