Barbara M. MacNutt, 92, of Peterborough, NH, passed away peacefully on her birthday, May 17, 2018 at the Pheasant Wood Center in Peterborough, NH.
She was born on May 17, 1926 in Peterborough, NH, and was a daughter of the late Kenneth and Sabra (Carkin) Wetherbee.
Barbara was raised and educated in the Peterborough area and graduated from Peterborough High School in 1945. She was married to John L. MacNutt.
She worked for many years as a machine operator at Millipore Corporation, and prior to that she worked at NH Ball Bearings as well as Monadnock Community Hospital.
For the past seven years, Barbara was a resident at Pheasant Wood Center in Peterborough, where she was loved by the staff and thoroughly enjoyed her time and the many activities she participated in there.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her two husbands; John L. MacNutt and Donald Stearns, and by her son Donald Alan Stearns in 1947; three brothers; Kenneth, Daniel, Malcom and her sister, Sabra Russell.
Survivors include her two daughters, Diane (Stearns) Streeter and her husband Christopher of Hancock, NH and Donna (Stearns) Biggerstaff and her husband Jeffery of Irving, Texas; two granddaughters, Melissa (Streeter) Cardin of Rochester, NH and Katelyn Streeter and her fiancé William Robbins of Hancock, NH; two great-granddaughters, Hannah Cardin and Hailey Streeter and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
SERVICES: A celebration of her life will be held at 1:00pm on Sunday, May 20, 2018 in the First Congregational Church of Hancock, UCC, 47 Main Street, Hancock, NH 03449. Reverend Judith Copeland, Pastor, will officiate.
