Benjamin 'Ben' DeGrandpre

Benjamin Paul DeGrandpre, 36, of Bath, ME, died on May 6, 2022 at his home. He was born February 21, 1986, and grew up in Jaffrey, NH. He attended local schools and graduated from the Summit School, in Amherst, NH in 2004.

Benjamin worked locally for Deschenes Construction of Jaffrey, and at Peterborough Marble and Granite in Peterborough, NH before moving to Maine in 2013. In Maine, he worked landscaping for Gnome Landscapes, Design and Masonry in Falmouth, did residential construction, worked as a sternman on a lobster boat for two years, and became a Journeyman Plumber working at Premium H2O in Bath.

Ben loved the outdoors. He was happiest while exploring the woods and on the water. He loved fishing and always stayed busy working with his hands. He will be remembered as a kind, funny, sensitive, curious, and creative man with many interests. He was passionate and very knowledgeable about freshwater fish tanks and also had an incredible green thumb, loving many plants, especially his orchids. One of his favorite places on earth was the family camp at Adams Pond in Bridgton, ME. He spent many hours exploring the pond and cherishing time with his family.

He will be deeply missed by his parents, Martin and Rebecca DeGrandpre of Jaffrey, NH; his sister, Cadence DeGrandpre, of Raymond, ME; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He will also be missed by his beloved dog Ricky Ricardo.

A Funeral Liturgy Service will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at 1:00pm at the Cournoyer Funeral Home, 33 River Street, Jaffrey, NH 03452. Rev. Wilfred Deschamps, Pastor of Saint Patrick Church in Jaffrey will be the Celebrant.

A Celebration of Ben’s Life will immediately follow the service, at Woodbound Inn, 247 Woodbound Road, Rindge, NH 03461, from 2:00 to 5:00pm. All are welcome.
