Brian P. Hennessy

Antrim, New Hampshire Brian P. Hennessy died at home peacefully with his family on April 29, 2012 at the age of 90. Mr. Hennessy was a retired Executive Director of a Nashua training facility; N.E.E.D.S. (Nashua Evaluation Employment Development Services) Mr. Hennessy had a wide range of talents including farming, organic gardening. Mr. Hennessy also loved playing soccer and played for several club professional teams in England. Mr. Hennessy was born in January of 1922 in Sandown Isle of Wight, an Island off the South coast of England. He graduated from his primary schools on the island and was subsequently part of the World War II effort making military parts for the Royal Air Force, Saunders-Roe in East Cowes, Isle of Wight. Later Mr. Hennessy served with the Military in the English Royal Core of Signals. He was personally responsible for keeping radio communication operable between Greece and Cairo Egypt. After his war service Mr. Hennessy graduated from Occupational Training School in Plymouth England. In 1950 Mr. Hennessy traveled to Canada to spend time with his brother Richard Hennessy and later moved into New Hampshire to work at Crotched Mountain Rehabilitation Center in Greenfield, NH. While employed at Crotched Mountain Mr. Hennessy met his wife Anne who was working as a teacher of the deaf. They later were married in July of 1957 at Anne’s parent’s home in Nashua, NH. While both continued to work at Crotched Mountain they resided in Peterborough. In 1962 He and his wife moved to Antrim, purchasing an old farm house with beautiful farmland. After restoring the property together Mr. Hennessy continued to working until he was chosen to head the N.E.E.D.S. organization. Mr. Hennessy ran the company and commuted to Nashua everyday. During his employment, Mr. Hennessy was recognized for his efforts in the non-profit sectors. He was awarded a distinguished honor from the Salvation and Army and was given the citizen of the year award in Nashua in 1984. He continued to work in Nashua until his retirement in 1983. During retirement he and Anne took many trips to England to stay with his sister Pearl Eldridge on the Isle of Wight. During the travel to England many side trips included excursions to Scotland, Ireland and France. Mr. Hennessy loved interaction with people and spent many hours meeting and greeting customers that had come to his wifes business The Wool Room located at Meadow Brook Farm in Antrim. Mr. Hennessy is survived by his wife of 54 years Anne (Thompson) Hennessy of Antrim: he also leaves his children: daughter Kristen R. Stenberg of Antrim, sons Jay B. Hennessy and his wife Brenda (Beauchamp) of Antrim, Dana P. Hennessy and his wife Patricia (O’Rourke) of Dublin. Mr. Hennessy Leaves his sister Pearl Eldridge of Ryde Isle of Wight England. Predeceased Brother Richard Hennessy of St. Catherines Ontario Canada. He leaves five grandchildren Erik Stenberg, Evan Stenberg, Mark Stenberg, Lisa Hennessy and Sarah Hennessy. Also great-grand children Kendra Beaumont and Simon Beaumont, extended family and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday May 3, 2012 at 2:00PM at North Branch Cemetery in Antrim, NH
