Carol M. Hollenbeck, 90, a resident of Jaffrey, and formerly of Dublin and Harrisville, NH, passed away peacefully at the Jaffrey Rehabilitation and Nursing Center on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, after a period of declining health.

Carol was born on May 1, 1934, in Montclair, NJ, a daughter of the late Brua and Florence (Johnson) Hollenbeck. She attended schools in New Jersey and graduated in 1951. After moving to Dublin in the late 70’s, Carol worked as the Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent of Schools of the Con-Val School District in Peterborough until her retirement.

Carol had accepted Jesus as a young child and was devoted to her faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a faithful member of the Jaffrey Bible Church in Jaffrey, NH. Carol was very active in her church community and was always present every Sunday singing in the choir, active in bible study groups and other church functions.

Carol loved her life and treasured spending her free time with family and friends whom she loved very much. She really enjoyed driving and took pleasure in long road trips to visit family and friends no matter how far away they lived. She especially loved driving to Maine with friends after work to get an ice cream by the Nubble Lighthouse in York, one of her favorite places. Carol treasured spending time at the beach with anyone who agreed to spend the day with her there in the summer months. She was always ready with a loving smile and heart. Carol enjoyed listening to a good story, having a good sit down and chat or just being with someone who needed advice or counseling. Carol was dearly loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents Florence and Brua Hollenbeck, her sisters, Miriam Stockin and Jean ‘Peg’ Bunn, and by her brothers, Brua “Bud” Hollenbeck, Jr., and Jack Hollenbeck.

She is survived by her sister, Ruth Dailey of Jaffrey, NH and her brother Arthur ‘Jed’ Hollenbeck of Laconia, NH, her daughter of the heart Fabiola Woods and her husband Ken Woods of Dublin, NH, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, “grandchildren” and close friends.

At Carol’s request, there will be no calling hours.
