Catherine Melvina Green Robinson, 102, passed away peacefully at the Jaffrey Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, on Saturday, March 15, 2025.
Catherine was born in Dayton, OH, on September 7, 1922, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Susie (Boude) Green. She was a 1940 graduate of Colorado Springs High School. Upon graduating, Catherine would go on to meet the love of her life, Peter Robinson, and start a family with him.
Whilst working as a homemaker, her and Peter opened their own photography studio, ‘Robinson Photo Service.’ They owned and operated this for many happy years before retiring in 1989. She was very proud to own and operated a women’s business in the 1950’s. Alongside this, Catherine was very involved in participating in local children’s community events.
Upon their much-deserved retirement. Catherine and Peter remained very dedicated to the community. They were active members of the American Legion Post 18 of Dedham, MA, and the Women’s Auxiliary. Catherine greatly enjoyed assisting ‘Commander Peter Robinson’ with many events throughout the years.
In her free time, Catherine enjoyed many hobbies. She loved her garden, as well as crafts, such as sewing, knitting, crocheting, and painting. Her greatest achievements was her passion for photography and her dollhouse which she had built from scratch!
When she needed to relax, Catherine found great joy in being outdoors. Her favorite place to go was the beach. As she greatly enjoyed fishing and boating on the ocean.
Catherine also happened to be an animal lover. She enjoyed a moment of time as a dog show trainer. But she had raised all sorts of critters, such as fish, hamsters, kittens, dogs, birds (she was not a fan of starlings), chipmunks, turkeys, and even worms!
Catherine will be greatly missed by her children, Susan Rand, Thomas (Pat) Robinson, Peter “Robby” Robinson Jr., and David (Renée Richardson) Robinson. She also leaves behind her sister, Dixie Shaw of Colorado Springs. Catherine was also the proud grandmother to 11 grandchildren and many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
At her request, a private family burial will be held in the spring.
