Charles E. Willard

Charles E. Willard, 78, of Temple died peacefully Friday August 9, 2013 at the Monadnock Community Hospital in Peterborough, with family at his side.

He was born September 9, 1934 in Peterborough son of the late Mervin and Elise (McBean) Willard. He was a 1953 graduate of Appleton Academy in New Ipswich and had been a life long resident of Temple.

Charlie had owned and operated his own construction business in Temple for many years.
He enjoyed reading and was a prolific writer .He especially loved writing stories of growing up in Temple and the history and events that went on there.

Charlie was cheerful, with a dry sense of humor; he was always ready to lend a hand to help friends and neighbors.

He is survived by his sons Charles A. Willard of Hancock, James Willard of Temple, Herbert R. Willard and wife Luciana of Nashua; his daughter Vicki Upham and husband Richard of Weare.; brothers George M. Willard and wife Susan of Temple; Thomas Willard and wife Norma of Dover; his sister Margaret “Peggy” Cournoyer and husband Joseph also of Temple; grandchildren Benjamin Willard, Farrah Strader, Danielle Shea, Allison Willard and Zachary Willard; great grandson Logan Strader; nieces and nephews; sister in law Judith Willard of New Ipswich; many cousins and several close friends.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother William Willard.

As per his request, there will be no calling hours.

Private funeral services will be at the convenience of the family.
