Charlie Walter Guptill III

Charles “Charlie” Walter Guptill III, 87, longtime resident of Sharon, NH, passed away on September 6, 2024, in Peterborough, NH, following a period of declining health. 

Charlie was born on December 7, 1936, a son to the late Charles Walter and Lillian May Allen Guptill Jr. 

Charlie was a licensed electrician before he changed career focus and became a plumber. He was a retired member of the Peterborough Fire Department. Many knew Charlie from his time working at Derby’s of Peterborough, and Charlie’s Home Center also in Peterborough. He worked at Belletete’s in Jaffrey up until his retirement. In his free time, he enjoyed bowling, snowmobiling, and fly fishing in his younger years. He greatly enjoyed watching western movies and was also a handyman who took it upon himself to fix things. 

In addition to both parents, he is predeceased by his beloved wife, Patricia Ann (LaFleur) Guptill, and his two brothers, John Guptill and Francis Guptill. 

Charlie will be forever remembered by his children, Patricia Smith of Virginia Beach, VA, Diane Winn of West Chesterfield, NH, and Cynthia Demers of Rindge, NH, and Charles Guptill IV of Keene, NH, his three sisters, Jenny Cordatos of Hancock, NH, Lillian Fish of Jaffrey, NH, and Joyce Harvey of Jaffrey, NH, his two brothers, Arthur Guptill of Rindge, NH, and Alfred Guptill of Jaffrey, NH, nine grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 8 step-grandchildren, and 18 step-grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

Charlie will be laid to rest to be with his beloved wife Patricia at Pine Hill Cemetery in Peterborough, NH, on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at 10:00 AM. All are welcome.
