Clifton Homer Goulet, 75, formerly of Jaffrey, died suddenly on Wednesday, August 24, 2011. He was born on September 27, 1935 in Jaffrey, NH. Clifton was the son of Omer Goulet and Mary Jane Levesque. He attended Conant High School and graduated in 1954. After high school he played minor league baseball for the Chicago White Sox. He served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1960 in Okinawa, Japan. After the Army, Clifton worked at W.W. Cross in Jaffrey and had played semi-professional baseball in Nashua, NH. He married Sandra Lee Symonowicz on January 14, 1967. He had played softball for the D.D. Bean Eagles, helping the team win many state titles. He was a self employed electrician in Jaffrey for 26 years and later moved to North Carolina, where he resided for 15 years. Clifton was an avid golfer and fisherman. He coached little league baseball in Jaffrey for 5 years, and coached the VFW Team in Babe Ruth baseball in Jaffrey for 4 years. He was a member of the Brothers of the Bush for Jaffrey’s Bicentennial Celebration, the Lions Club in Jaffrey, and was a member of the Jaffrey Fire Department for more than 15 years. Clifton was preceded in death by his by both of his parents and by his sister Verna White. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Sandra Lee, son Scott Goulet (and wife Leah) of Swanzey, NH and son Bryan Goulet (and wife Nicole) of Antioch, IL, 3 grandchildren, 2 step-children and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 2, 2011 at 11:00AM at St. Patrick Church, 89 Main Street, Jaffrey. Rev. Wilfred H. Deschamps, Pastor, will be the celebrant.
