Cynthia A. Charlonne, 78, of Jaffrey died peacefully while surrounded by her family on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack after a brief illness.
Mrs. Charlonne was born on June 8, 1939 in Nashua, NH, daughter of the late Maurice and Catherine (Gautreau) Blouin. She was a 1958 graduate of the former Peterborough High School and had attended Becker Junior College in Leicester, MA.
Early on, she had worked at New Hampshire Ball Bearing in Peterborough, later working at Bean Fiberglass in Jaffrey before becoming the Human Resource and Payroll specialist at D.D. Bean & Sons, where she retired in 2016. Since then, Mrs. Charlonne had enjoyed volunteering at Monadnock Community Hospital in Peterborough.
She was a faithful communicant of Saint Patrick Parish in Jaffrey. Mrs. Charlonne was a voracious reader and enjoyed spending her free time basking in the sun locally, as well at Hampton Beach and Wells Beach.
Mrs. Charlonne was preceded in death by her husband Joseph F. Charlonne on June 27, 1991, her son, Alan J. Charlonne on February 18, 2015, and by her grandson, Joseph David Prunier on November 7, 1997.
Mrs. Charlonne is survived by her daughter, Lori Charlonne and her husband, Marc DeBanico of Grantham, NH; her son, Mark Charlonne and his husband, Wayne of Spofford, NH; her daughter-in-law, Jennifer Charlonne of Rutland, MA; her grandchildren, Brittany, Nicholas, Abby, Alex, Lydia, Brianna and Aria; and many cousins and close friends.
Family and friends are warmly invited to calling hours on Sunday, March 25, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Cournoyer Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 33 River Street, (Route 202) Jaffrey.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 26, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Saint Patrick Church, 89 Main Street, Jaffrey. Rev. Wilfred Deschamps, Pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in the spring at the family lot in Saint Patrick Cemetery in Jaffrey.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Charlonne’s name to Patient Services at the Community Hospice House, c/o Home Health & Hospice Care, 7 Executive Park Drive Merrimack, NH 03054, or to the Windham County Humane Society, PO Box 397, Brattleboro, VT 05302.
