Cynthia Cindy Louise (Lansberry) Given, 48, entered into eternal peace on Friday, April 12, 2013. Cindy was born in Denver, Colorado on December 15, 1964, a daughter of Janice (Sorensen) and Roger Lansberry. She graduated in 1983 from Corry High School in Corry, Pennsylvania. She then attended Johnson and Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island. She married Jaffrey native Aylmer Given, III on June 30, 1990. Together, they had two sons; Joshua and Brandon, both at home in Jaffrey. Cindy was remotely employed by Accommodations Unlimited, from Fairfax, Virginia, as an account director. She was diagnosed with Stage 4 Breast Cancer in 2005, and Cindy continued to battle through as the disease metastasized to her bones. Her strong will was to live with an unwavering faith in God, and the love and prayers of family, friends, and many supporters carried her through the years of endless treatments and procedures. Yet even through her own struggle with Cancer, Cindy’s greatest passion and concern was for others in need. A woman of faith, she served tirelessly over 17 years at her church, Monadnock Congregational Church of Peterborough. With incredible organizational skills and attention to detail, Cindy created curriculum and served as a teacher in Christian Education and Vacation Bible School. She also had the opportunity to participate in a mission trip to Wales to develop a Bible school for some local children. She went on later to serve as a spiritual leader and elder within the church. Her heart broke for those in need and an understanding of the power of prayer, Cindy created a prayer ministry within the church. This opportunity evolved into the construction of a prayer room which provided a solemn, quiet place for members to pray. The final 3 years of her life, she led the church in prayer spurring others on in their faith. With Cindy’s kind and compassionate nature, she won the hearts and trust of many, who even now are being changed by her unending witness of nurturing love, prayer and faith. She leaves loving memories to be cherished by her husband; Aylmer in Jaffrey; sons, Joshua and Brandon in Jaffrey; parents, Janice and Roger Lansberry in Phoenix, Arizona; siblings, Sandra (Lansberry) Hornak in Atlanta, Georgia, James Lansberry in Peoria, Illinois and Jeffrey Lansberry in Denver, Colorado; and many adoring nieces and nephews.
