DANTE E. BARTOLOMEO, 87, of Webster Highway, Temple died Friday July 31, 2008 at Harborside Health Care in Peterborough following a lengthy illness.
He was born February 10, 1921 in Concord MA son of the late John and Carmina (Stefanelli) Bartolomeo.
He was a 1938 graduate of Concord (MA) High School. He was attending Indiana Institute of Technology in Fort Wayne, IN when he enlisted in the United States Army. He served in the European African Middle Eastern Theater as a combat engineer under General George Patten. Following his discharge in 1946 as a Staff Sargeant he enlisted in the US Army Reserves for the next twenty six years and held the rank of Lieutenant Colonel upon retirement.
In addition to receiving a degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Indiana Institute of Technology he also earned a Civil Engineering degree from Texas Tech and an Electrical Engineering degree from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD.
Mr. Bartolomeo was employed as a civil engineer for the State of Massachusetts for many years, retiring just prior to the Big Dig project.
His wife of fifty-four years Edith Webster Bartolomeo died in July 2004.
A sister Mary Roebuck of South Carolina, and various nieces and nephews survive him.

Calling hours will be held Saturday August 2, 2008 at the Cournoyer Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 33 River Street (Route 202 South) Jaffrey NH from 8:30 to 10:00AM
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10:00AM in St. Patrick Church, 89 Main Street, Jaffrey. Rev Wilfred H. Deschamps, pastor will officiate.
