Daryl H. Fournier

Greenville, NH – Daryl H. Fournier, 56, of Greenville, died Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at the Concord Hospital in Concord, NH after a long illness.

He was born in Peterborough, NH on December 2, 1957, the son of Raymond L. and Virginia G. (Nutting) Fournier. Daryl was raised in Greenville and graduated from Mascenic Regional High School and then graduated from New England Institute of Anatomy in Boston in 1975.

He worked as a licensed funeral director for more than 30 years. He owned and operated Fournier Funeral Home in Greenville after having worked there alongside his brothers and parents, only having to sell the funeral home in 2011 after his health began to decline.

Daryl also owned and operated the Greenville Laundromat from 1991 to 2012. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion, Squadron #11 and had previously been a member and past commander of Squadron #13 in Greenville. Daryl also belonged to and was a past president of the New Ipswich Athletic Association, and had been a longtime member of the New Hampshire Funeral Directors Association. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, hunting and fishing, and serving his community.

Daryl is survived by his 2 daughters, Brittany Fournier and Courtney Fournier, both of New Ipswich, his son Curtis Fournier of Greenville, his former wife, Debora (Caisse) Fournier of Peterborough, his sister Cindy Keary of North Falmouth, Mass, his brother Dennis Fournier of New Ipswich, and many aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Daryl was preceded in death by his older brother, Edmund K. Fournier.

At Daryl’s request there will be no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated by Rev. Wilfred Deschamps on Friday, June 13, 2014, at 10:00 AM in Sacred Heart Church, 15 High Street, Greenville, NH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Daryl’s name to the Souhegan Valley Ambulance Service, PO Box 95, New Ipswich, NH 03071, or to the Good Neighbor Fund, PO Box 486, Jaffrey, NH 03452
