Deborah A. Elliott

Deborah A. Elliott, 72, of Jaffrey, NH, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2024, at home, surrounded by her loving family. 

Born on July 3, 1952, in Bennington, VT, Deb was the daughter of Rev. Raymond and Ruth Putnam. She spent her formative years in Connecticut before moving to Rindge, NH, where she graduated from Conant High School. Deb went on to earn her associate’s degree from Mount Wachusett Community College and dedicated herself to a career at Monadnock Community Hospital, where she served with compassion for 35 years.

Above all, Deb cherished her time with family and friends. It was through friends that Deb met her husband of 47 years Gerald ‘Jerry’ Elliott while working at D.D. Bean. Deb loved the ocean, found solace and joy in her daily walks with her dog, and faith was the cornerstone of her life as she grew up as ‘the minister’s daughter.’ An active member of the United Church of Christ in Jaffrey, Deb enjoyed being a part of this community. Deb's absence will be deeply felt, but her spirit and warmth will continue to inspire those who carry her memory forward. Deb is preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Raymond and Ruth Putnam and sister Carol Sue Putnam. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Elliott and dog Ellie, children Bethany (Anne) Elliott-Thul, Megan (William) Howell, Candi (Chuck) Brickley, Jac Brown, sister Sheila (Putnam) Zinn of Colorado and brother John (Marge) Putnam of Virginia. Additionally, she is survived by her 8 grandchildren: Erica, Alex, Owen, Isaac, Elyse, Lance, Niko and Dylan as well as great grandchildren Daylen and Alaria.

Deb’s family would like to thank Hospice at HCS, specifically, Nancy, Kay and Evelyn who supported them in providing loving care to Deb during her final month of life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests gift cards (gas, grocery, pet store) be donated to Home Healthcare, Hospice, and Community Services - 312 Marlboro St, Keene, NH 03431.

Family and friends are invited to Calling Hours which will be held on Friday, July 26, 2024, from 4:00 – 6:00 pm at the Cournoyer Funeral Home, 33 River Street, (Rte. 202) in Jaffrey, NH 03452. 

A Memorial service to celebrate Deb's life will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2004 at 1:00pm in the United Church of Jaffrey, 54 Main Street, Jaffrey, NH 03452.
