Dennis J. Moore, 67, of Peterborough, died Sunday, January 3, 2016 at Crestwood Center in Milford after a period of declining health.
Mr. Moore was born on August 19, 1948 in Lowell, MA, he was the son of Charles and Theresa (Bellemare) Moore. Mr. Moore received his education in Massachusetts and while serving in the Air Force. He attended the University of Lowell and studied Psychology as his major. Mr. Moore served his country honorably from 1967 to 1970 in the United States Air Force as a Refueling Specialist in Alaska and locally at Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford, MA.
Mr. Moore had retired in the mid-eighties after serving as a police officer in the town of Westford, MA. He then became a security director and supervisor at the Pheasant Lane Mall and the Meadow Glen Mall, and eventually retired after working in the Security Department at the Monadnock Community Hospital.
Mr. Moore had been a member and Senior Vice Commander of the Robert D. Pelletier American Legion Post #247 in Tyngsboro, MA. He also enjoyed both fresh and saltwater fishing, as well as golfing in his free time.
Mr. Moore missed his beloved Mia, now they are together again. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 15 years, Virginia ‘Gina’ (Regacho) Moore, of Peterborough; his daughter, Christine Moore; his son, Paul Moore and his granddaughter Emily, all of Athol, MA; his step-daughter Melissa Hatcher of Manchester, NH; his step-son Benjamin Hatcher of Hudson, NH; his step-son Timothy Hatcher, serving with the US Air Force, stationed in Tucson, AZ; his twin step-granddaughters Bella and Gabby and his newest step-granddaughter Emma, all of Hudson, NH; his sister, Charlotte Walsh of Westford, MA and her family, and many close friends.
At Mr. Moore’s request, there will be no calling hours at this time.
Funeral services with military honors will be held on Friday, January 8, 2016 at 10:30am in the Chapel at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Hwy, Boscawen, NH 03303
In Lieu of Flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Moore’s name to the Good Neighbor Fund, PO Box 486, Jaffrey, NH 03452.
