Derek married the love of his life, Melissa Jean (Alexander), on September 29, 2012 and together they have resided in the close and tight knit community of Lyndeborough, NH amongst their close friends and family for the past 8 years.
He worked as a branch manager for CASCO/ IFES (Interstate Food Equipment Service) and made many friends throughout his years working in the restaurant industry. He was also a great leader for his co-workers and always was willing to chip in to get a job done even if that meant he had to leave his office to go out into the field to work amongst his fellow technicians.
Derek volunteered with the Lyndeborough Fire Department for many years and was always willing to do what was needed of him at a moment's notice. He enjoyed doing all aspects of the job but he was drawn to the front line with his brothers to work and try save others in need, this exemplified who Derek really was.
Derek had many hobbies; He always had a tool or two nearby. He loved helping others on projects that got his hands dirty. Derek taught Melissa many things to spend time together as they worked on projects side by side. He enjoyed making graphics, traveling, and always found a way to make his wife laugh. He enjoyed taking trips with Melissa to the coast and visiting Nubble Light House and eating lobster.
