Dolores A. Monkton

FITZWILLIAM - Dolores A. Monkton, 60, of Fitzwilliam, died peacefully at Good Shepherd Healthcare and Nursing Center in Jaffrey, on Sunday, Oct. 4, 2015 after a brave battle with Multiple Sclerosis.

Dolores was born in Athol, Mass. on Nov. 29, 1954, daughter of Lester and Olga (Brabowski) Richards. She was raised and educated in Athol and eventually moved to Jaffrey.

Dolores had worked at Microspec in Jaffrey after having worked at Jaffrey Fire Protection and New Hampshire Ball Bearing previously.

Dolores loved her pets - both dogs and cats equally. She enjoyed spending time at and swimming in the ocean, and she always enjoyed a good family bar-b-que and listening to early rock & roll music.

In addition to her parents, Dolores was predeceased by her brother Gary. Her surviving family includes her son, Christopher and grandson, Hayden, both of New Ipswich; her sister, Rosanne; her brothers, Steven and Alex, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends including her longtime friend and former husband, Donnie Monkton.

A Celebration of Dolores' life will take place on Monday, Oct. 26 at the Cournoyer Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m.
