Donald (Don) Malcolm Bailey, 77, of Fitzwilliam, NH, passed away unexpectedly, at home on Saturday, November 16, 2024, with his companion Tracey at his side.

Born on June 24, 1947, in Leominster, MA, he was the son of the late Roland E. and Ruth Anne (Foster) Bailey. He was married to Joyce McMaster in 1968, they had two children together and eventually divorced. Several years later he married Gale Andrews, they had been married for 30 years at the time of her passing in 2017.

Don graduated from Leominster High School in Massachusetts, joining the U.S Navy after graduation. He was deployed overseas during Viet Nam. Once stateside he attended college briefly, studying Veterinary Medicine before changing career paths to auto mechanics. Thereafter he opened his own full service automotive repair and salvage business, Bailey’s Garage in Fitzwilliam, NH. Don was still running his business at the time of his death.

Don spent a large portion of his time providing service to others, whether working on vehicles, responding to Mutual Aid calls, plowing snow, or responding to fires as a volunteer fireman. One of Don’s favorite past times was lighting off fireworks, achieving his licensing in pyrotechnics. Don could be found every fourth of July providing others with the joy of a fireworks display, even being asked to work the shows in New York City. He thoroughly enjoyed passing his love of colorful and loud light displays to his children and especially his grandchildren.

Don was preceded in death by infant twin siblings, his parents, and his wife Gale S. Bailey.

Donald is survived by his children; Corey Bailey of Douds, IA, Lori (Bailey) Wells (Dan) of Douds, IA, and Lindsay Andrews of Boston, MA. Don was also the proud grandfather to 6 grandchildren; Sarah Tedrow, (JT), Hannah Wells, (Fred), Benjamin Wells, Haley and Audrey Bailey, and Tiffany Caron, and 2 great grandchildren; Eleanor and Noah Tedrow. He is also survived by his brothers; Roland Jr (Ron) Bailey, Franklin TN and Bradford Bailey, Hinsdale, NH and by his partner Tracey Clukey of Fitzwilliam, NH.
