DONALD G. ROBINSON, 82, of Turners Falls MA, formerly of West Peterborough died Monday May 14, 2007 at the Monadnock Community Hospital on Peterborough following a brief illness.
He was born February 12, 1925 in Peterborough son of the late George and Eleanor (Brady) Robinson.
He attended the former Peterborough High School. He left high school in order to join the United States Air Force and had served in Elkonberry, England during World War II; later he reenlisted in the U.S. Army and served with a motor company in Italy.
He was a member of the John Humiston Post #11 American Legion of Jaffrey.
He has been a resident of Turners Falls since July 2004 and had previously lived in West Peterborough.
Mr. Robinson had worked as head custodian at the Keene High School; he worked in the 'œFinishing Room' at Noones Mills in Peterborough; was a machine operator for Pratt & Whitney in Connecticut and retired in 1990 from D.D. Bean & Sons in Jaffrey.
He loved to dance and was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge in Keene. He was also an avid supporter of the Indian tribes of Connecticut.
Several nieces and nephews and cousins along with his companion of the past eighteen years, Claire Baker of Turners Falls MA survive him.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers Albert Robinson in 1987 and Herbert Robinson in 2003 and a sister Anne Dedo of Keene in 1986.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11:00AM in St. Peter'™s Church of the Devine Mercy Parish, 18 Vine Street in Peterborough. Rev. Gerald R. Belanger, pastor will officiate.
Friends may call at the Cournoyer Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 33 River Street, Jaffrey on Friday from 9:00 AM until the time of the Mass.
Burial will follow in the family lot in St. Peter'™s Cemetery, Peterborough.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Peterborough Ambulance, Summer Street Peterborough NH 03458.
