Donald J. Hill, 91, of Lantana, FL and formerly of Rindge and New Ipswich, NH, died peacefully on August 25, 2021, at the Cheshire Medical Center in Keene, NH after a brief illness.
He was born on June 17, 1930, in New Ipswich, NH, son of the late John and Ellen (Mackey) Hill. Donald was raised and educated locally and worked as a mason. Donald retired to Lantana, Florida after a lengthy career with Seppala & Aho Construction Co.
He enjoyed going to the Boynton Beach inlet to watch the fisherman fish and the boats coming in. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends, and especially loved coming to New Hampshire in the summers to be with his family. Donald was a devoted member of the Apostolic Lutheran Church.
In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Elizabeth (Lehto) Hill, and his sons, Ronald Hill, Steven Hill, and David Hill; his grandson, Brandon Kuusisto, and his sons-in-law, David Lambert and Kevin Valitalo.
He leaves behind his loving children, Kathy Kuusisto and her husband Daniel of Inman, SC, Michael Hill, Deborah Desrosiers and her husband Rodney, Virginia Lambert, Shirley Henault and her husband Benjamin, Kimberly Hill, James Hill and his wife Sharon, all of New Ipswich, Edward Hill and his wife Lois of Rindge, Daniel Hill and his wife Heather of Trinity NC and Dawna Valitalo of Lake Worth, FL; 52 grandchildren, 84 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Family and friends are invited to calling hours which will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, from 1:00pm to 2:00 pm at The Apostolic Lutheran Church, 117 Goen Road, New Ipswich, NH, 03071.
A Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 pm in the church and burial will be in Smithville Cemetery on Binney Hill Road, New Ipswich, NH, 03071.
Donald's service will be recorded for those unable to attend, and may be viewed here on his tribute page after they have concluded.
