Donald P. Therrien, 69, formerly of Jaffrey, died Sunday December 9, 2012 at the Hanover Hall Nursing Home in East Berlin PA., following a period of failing health. He was born May 27, 1943 in Peterborough the son of the late Roger and Mary (Murphy) Therrien. Donald grew up in Jaffrey and had attended Conant High School. He served with the United States Marines during the Vietnam Era from 1961 to 1963. He was stationed on the USS Chilton APA38 in the Mediterranean Sea. Following his military commitment he returned to Jaffrey where he worked as a truck driver for several area companies which included Red’s. He married Joyce Anne Binkley and lived in Winchester NH before moving to Pennsylvania. His wife died April 25, 2007. In Pennsylvania he was also employed as a truck driver. Survivors include his two sons Paul R. Therrien and Robert N. Therrien of East Berlin PA; a daughter Dawn R Meleski of Winchester, NH; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a brother David N. Therrien of Derby, Kansas; a half brother Vincent A. Therrien of Milford NH; nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Good Neighbor Fund, Post Office Box 486, Jaffrey NH 03452.
As per his request, there will be no calling hours.
Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family in St. Patrick Cemetery, Jaffrey.
