Doris D. Stiles

DORIS D. STILES, 82, of Webster Street in Jaffrey, formerly of Amsterdam NY, died Sunday December 21, 2008 at the Monadnock Community Hospital in Peterborough NH following a brief illness.

She was born January 12, 1926 in Hallsville, NY, daughter of the late John and Antoinette (Dievendorf) Lieber. She was a graduate of Fort Plain High School Class of 1944.

For eighteen years, Mrs. Stiles worked at the Senior High School in Hudson Falls (NY) in the cafeteria. She then worked for U.S. Catheter now known as CR Bard in Queensbury. She also had worked many years at the Baptist Church meal site in Glenns Falls and helped to deliver the meals and worked as a personal care aide, taking care of the elderly.

She and her family were longtime Hudson Falls residents.

She was a volunteer election poll worker in Warren County as well as Amsterdam NY
She was a huge Alan Jackson fan and a member of his Fan Club. She was a member of the Red Hat Society of Queensbury and belonged to Curves.

Mrs. Stiles was a member of St. Andrews Lutheran Church in South Glenns Falls NY and the North Main United Methodist Church in Gloversville NY.
She enjoyed walking, exercising, camping, family gatherings and being with friends.

Survivors include her daughter with whom she was living, Patricia and her husband Ron LaRoche,Jr. of Jaffrey,NH; two sons Larry Cook and his wife Marna of Hudson Falls, NY, Alan Cook and his wife Tina of Church Hill, TN; a sister Janet OBryan and husband J.B. OBryan of Crawfordville, FL ; fourteen grandchildren, Karen Zemken, Gordy Cook, Andy Kipbricky, Holly King, Dereck Haggerty, Brian Haggerty, Jenne Haggerty, Shannan Haggerty, Lisa Allen, Steve Cook, Craig Cook, Nicole Cutshaw, Ashley Smith, Melanie Smith; eleven great-grandchildren Lauren Haggerty, Elizabeth Haggerty, James Haggerty, Abby King, Kelsey Dicaprio, Reyleigh King, Erica Cutshaw, Shawn Cutshaw, Colin Smith, Abigail Smith, Skylar Clark; four nephews Gary Shults, Manly Shults, Glen Thompson and Harold Thompson; two nieces Sondra Failing and Gayle Smith.

Mrs. Stiles was pre-deceased by her parents, her first husband Kenneth Cook; her second husband Everett Stiles; a son Russell Cook; a grandson Shawn Daniel Cook; a sister Marianna Schults and husband Leonard Schults; a sister Margaret Thompson and husband Merle Thompson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be to either the North Main United Methodist Church, 316 North Main Street, Gloversville NY 12078-2141 or to Peterborough United Methodist Church, 43 Concord Street, Peterborough NH 03458.

There will be no calling hours and interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.

A Memorial service will be held Saturday December 27, 2008 at 2:00PM in the North Main United Methodist Church in Gloversville, New York.
