Dorothy "Dotty" Esther Swain

DOROTHY DOTTY ESTHER SWAIN, 87 of Lacy Road in Jaffrey, died peacefully at her home on Friday May 1, 2009 .

She was born in Barrington NH on December 23, 1921, the daughter of the late W. Sherburne and Mary Esther (Sanders) Swain.
Dotty grew up in Barrington and had attended local schools. She had been a resident of Laconia from 1934 until 1986 when she moved to the Monadnock area. She has lived in Jaffrey since 2002.

Dotty enjoyed singing and music. She loved children and enjoyed visiting with friends at the Senior Focus in Jaffrey. She loved animals and had visited Horse Power in Temple several times.

Dotty was involved with the Monadnock Worksource and had worked at Steeles Book Store in Peterborough.

She is survived by her sister Geraldine Baxter of Barrington; her brother Calvin Swain also of Barrington; several nieces and nephews; and her family of health providers and friends at Perfect Peace in Jaffrey.

She was predeceased by a brother Ralph Swain, two sisters Luverne Baxter and Adeline Stadig.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Perfect Peace, Post Office Box 637, Jaffrey NH 03452 or to the Monadnock Worksource, Post Office Box 28, Peterborough NH 03458.

Private burial in the family lot, will take place at the convenience of the family, in Pine Grove Cemetery, Barrington New Hampshire.

There will be no calling hours.

A Memorial service will be held Friday May 8, 2009 at 11:00AM in the Dublin Community Church, Main Street ( Route 101 west) Dublin. Rev Michael Scott, pastor will officiate.
