Plymouth, New Hampshire Dylan G. Evans, 20, formerly of Jaffrey, died on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at the Speare Memorial Hospital in Plymouth as a result of injuries he received in a tragic accident. Dylan was born on June 22, 1991 in Peterborough, NH, son of Douglas G. and Lori A. (Mason) Evans. He was a 2009 graduate of Conant High School and had been a strong competitor on the swim team. Dylan had attended Landmark College in Putney, VT for a year before enrolling at Plymouth State University where he was currently a sophomore. He belonged to the fraternity Sigma Tau Gamma while at Plymouth State. Dylan had worked at DelRossi’s Trattoria during high school, and had most recently worked at Atlas Fireworks and Loon Mountain while at college. Dylan was a loving young man who was very passionate about any task he took on. He shared a great love of music with his father, and shared a zest for good food with his mother. He had frugal tastes, but enjoyed all good things in life. Family and friends were very important to Dylan and he would often be the defender of the underdog in any given situation. This was evident in his fondness for his four-legged friends, who he would help as much as possible by volunteering at the Monadnock Humane Society even when he was very young, and by sharing his allowance as a donation to the cause. He spent great quality time with his entire family as much as possible, and would even travel whenever necessary to be together. Dylan would head south when not in school and work side by side with his grandfather helping to build their home in North Carolina. He will be greatly missed. Dylan was preceded in death by his Paternal Grandfather, Donald L. Evans on February 9, 2008. Dylan is survived by his parents and his sister, Sarah Evans, all of Canton, Illinois; his Maternal Grandparents, Robert and Janet Mason of Clyde, NC; his Paternal Grandmother, Gayle Evans of Rindge, NH; his aunts and uncles, Cheryl Mason of Waynesville, NC, Scott and Vickie Mason of Michigan, James Mason of Moultry, NC, Trey and Terry Frederick of Rindge, NH; his cousins, Josh, Jordan, Abby, Nicole, Robert, Nicole and Kyle; Dylan’s girlfriend Allysen Hicks, and many other close friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to Dylan’s favorite cause, the Monadnock Humane Society, Monadnock Humane Society, 101 West Swanzey Road, Swanzey, NH 03446
