Earl E. Brodmerkle

EARL E. BRODMERKLE, 91 formerly of Proctor Road in Jaffrey NH, died Saturday July 14,2007 at the home of his son in Millbury Massachusetts.

He was born July 27, 1915 in Clinton, MA son of the late Theodore and Lillian (Kenner) Brodmerkle.

He attended schools in Lancaster and Clinton, MA.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served with the 733rd Field Artillery in the European Theater.

Following his discharge he moved to Rindge, NH in 1946. He later moved to Jaffrey NH where he met and married Helen 'œHap' Hodgkins. She died March 28, 1988.

Mr. Brodmerkle was a general contractor engaged in building for more than thirty-three years.

Survivors include his wife whom he married in 1989, Dixie Howard Brodmerkle of Jaffrey; a son David Brodmerkle Knight of Millbury MA, with whom he had been living; two grandchildren; a great grand son; a step-son Charles Howard III of Jaffrey; a step-daughter Myrna Rand of Florida; two sisters Phyllis Mathews and Norma Hayes both of Conway, South Carolina; two brothers Alden Brodmerkle of Lancaster, MA and Donald Brodmerkle of Sterling MA; several nieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours.

Private committal services will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Umass Memorial Hospice, 650 Lincoln Street, Worcester MA 01605.

The Cournoyer Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 33 River Street, Jaffrey NH is assisting the family.
