EDITH F. DRAPER, 83 of Gilmore Pond Road in Jaffrey died Monday March 19, 2007 at the Monadnock Community Hospital in Peterborough after being stricken at home.
She was born on August 22, 1923 in Mattapan, MA, daughter of the late Thomas and Edith (Chambers) Nolan. Mrs. Draper was a 1945 graduate of the Bridgewater State Teachers College and had been a teacher at the Massachusetts Hospital School in Canton.
Mrs. Draper had been a resident of Jaffrey since 1995 and had previously lived for more than 40 years in Canton, MA.
She was a communicant of Saint Patrick Church while living in Jaffrey. While living in Canton, she was a communicant of Saint John the Evangelist Church and was a member of the Ladies Sodality of the parish and a member and past president of the Daughters of Isabelle.
Mrs. Draper loved to travel, including several trips to Stowe, VT and Nova Scotia with her husband and family. She enjoyed reading and had knitted many of her children'™s outfits over the years. Mrs. Draper also enjoyed swimming and canoeing and will be fondly remembered as a good mom.
Mrs. Draper was pre-deceased by her sister Helen Hymanson.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Donald P. Draper of Jaffrey; five daughters, Donna Eramo of Canton, MA, Kathleen E. Draper and Marilyn Draper, both of Jaffrey, Joyce Riccio of Center Valley, PA and Carol Irving of Randolph, MA; 3 grandchildren, Jamie Palmer of Broomfield CO, Jennifer Draper of Leesport, PA, and Michael Riccio of Center Valley, PA; a brother Thomas Nolan of Medfield, MA and many Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and close Friends.
Friends and family in the Jaffrey area are warmly invited to calling hours on Thursday, March 22, 2007 from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Cournoyer Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 33 River Street, (Route 202 South) Jaffrey.
Friends and family in the Canton area are warmly invited to calling hours on Saturday, March 24, 2007 from 10:00-11:30 AM at the Roache-Pushard Home for Funerals, 220 Sherman Street, Canton, MA
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 24, 2007 at 12:00 Noon in Saint John the Evangelist Church, 700 Washington Street, Canton, MA. Burial will follow in Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.
