Edmund Marion

Edmund H. Marion, 81, of New Ipswich, NH, died unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 after a brief period of failing health.

'Ed' was born in Exeter, NH on November 11, 1941, the son of Leo and Louise (Cyr) Marion. He was a 1961 graduate of Portland, (Maine) High School.

Ed was the manager of Jaffrey's New Hampshire State Liquor Store. He had also worked at NEBS in Peterborough and eventually retired from Boynton Middle School in New Ipswich where he had been a custodian.

Ed always enjoyed tending his flower gardens and years ago enjoyed the thrill of racing stock cars at Monadnock Speedway in Winchester before it was paved. In quieter times, he also enjoyed playing cards and Yahtzee.

In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by all of his siblings.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Elaine (Rochette) Marion of New Ipswich, his daughter, Deborah and her husband Kenneth Quinn, Jr, of Greenfield, NH, his son, Bruce Marion, of Rock Hill, SC, 4 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and a large extended family.

Visiting hours will be held at 3:00 PM and a funeral service will begin at 4:00 PM, on Monday, March 6, 2023, at the Monadnock Bible Baptist Church, 210 South Woodbound Road in Rindge, NH where Ed was a member. Burial will take place later at the convenience of the family.
