Eleanor Foster Seeman, 93, of RiverMead Road in Peterborough died peacefully at her residence on Monday October 26, 2009 following a period of failing health.
She was born January 21, 1916 in Chicago, Illinois the daughter of the late Harry P. and Edith (White) Foster.
She received her formal education in Chicago schools, and had graduated from Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School in Boston.
Mrs. Seeman had worked as a secretary for several banks in New York before becoming office manager for Christ Church in Pelham New York.
Mrs. Seeman has been a resident of Hancock and Peterborough since 1968. She was a volunteer at the Monadnock Community Hospital in Peterborough as well as the Harris Center in Hancock.
Mrs. Seeman was well known for her love of bridge and was reputed to be one of the best players in the area.
Her husband Clifford Bruno Seeman died in October 1983.
Family members include sons Robert Foster Seeman and his wife Georgia Kern Seeman of Dallas TX and West Dover VT., and Richard White Seeman and his wife Ann Adair Samdahl Seeman of Madison, Alabama; a granddaughter Roberta Leigh Seeman, a student at Auburn University in Alabama.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Harris Center for Conservation Education Inc., 83 Kings Highway, Hancock NH 03449.
