ELEANOR L. FLYNN, 103, of Jaffrey died Thursday July 16, 2009 at the Good Shepherd Healthcare Center in Jaffrey after a long and full life.
Mrs. Flynn was born on October 23, 1905 in Dublin, New Hampshire, daughter of the late Samuel and Rebecca (Gagne) Pellerin. She attended local schools. She married Paul L. Flynn of Peterborough; he died in 1952.
Mrs. Flynn had been a Telephone Operator in Dublin for over 20 years and also worked at Pratt and Whitney in Hartford, CT during World War II. Later she worked for New Hampshire Ball Bearing and for Honeywell Electropac until retiring in 1970.
She had been a member of the Dublin Womens Club and had worked as a caretaker for many families in the Dublin area. She was a communicant of Saint Patrick Church in Jaffrey and had belonged to the former St. Anne Society. Mrs. Flynn was a frequent visitor of the Basilica of St. Anne de Beaupre in Quebec City and St. Josephs Oratory of Mount Royal in Montreal, Canada.
Mrs. Flynn had moved to Jaffrey in 1960 to live with her sister Eva and brother-in-law Ralph Chamberlain and proudly continued to live there independently until 2004.
Mrs. Flynn was preceded in death by her siblings, Ida, Margaret, Lorraine, Eva, Beatrice, and Alfred.
She is survived by her 3 nephews, Francis Mickey Chamberlain of Jaffrey, NH, Richard Metevier of Greenfield, NH, and William Pellerin of Florida; her 2 nieces, Elaine Durkee of Marlboro, MA and Lucille McDonald of Dublin, NH and many grandnieces and grandnephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Flynn name to Saint Patrick School, 70 Main Street, Jaffrey, NH, 03452, or to the Good Shepherd Healthcare Center, 20 Plantation Drive, Jaffrey, NH 03452
Burial will follow at the family lot in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Bennington.
Family and friends are warmly invited to calling hours on Saturday July 18, 2009 from 9:00AM to 11:00AM at the Cournoyer Funeral Home Cremation Center, 33 River Street, (Route 202) Jaffrey.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00AM, immediately following calling hours, at Saint Patrick Church, 89 Main Street, Jaffrey. Rev. Wilfred Deschamps, Pastor, will be the celebrant.
