Eva (Putnam) Cuddihee, 92, of Hancock, NH, died peacefully on Tuesday, June 23, 2015, surrounded by loving family after a brief period of failing health.
Eva was born on January 19, 1923, in Deering, NH, daughter of the late George W. and Mary Ann (St. John) Putman.
Eva graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1941 and worked at the American Guernsey Cattle Club in Peterborough for many years and later worked 10 years as the manager for Halls Clothing Store in Peterborough.
Eva was an avid reader and crossword puzzle enthusiast. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed camping with her family and friends, snowmobiling, cross stitching and skiing. Eva also loved to cook and bake. She belonged to the Cloudbuster Square Dancing Club and enjoyed her time bowling in the Women’s Bowling League in Peterborough as well as being a member of the Red Hat Society. Eva proudly held a 14 year membership at the ‘Wellness Center’ at Monadnock Community Hospital.
In addition to her parents, Eva is predeceased by her husband of 53 years, William (Bill) R. Cuddihee who passed in July, 2001 and several brothers and sisters.
Eva is survived by her son, Richard W. Cuddihee and his wife Wendy of Dublin, NH; her daughter, Mary Ann Cuddihee and her partner Michelle Gove of York, Me; her sister, Violet (Putman) Livingston of Hillsboro, NH; Eva’s three grandchildren, Bryan Cuddihee and his wife Angelina of Rochester, NH; Karianne (Cuddihee) Bekier and her husband Kevin of North Reading, MA ; Stormie Isles Cuddihee of Dublin, NH; her 3 great-grandchildren, Emma, Taylor and Zachary Bekier of North Reading, MA as well as several nieces and nephews.
We will all forever be saddened by our loss.
A graveside service will be held for family and friends on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Pine Hill Cemetery on Sand Hill Road in Peterborough. The Reverend Dan Osgood will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Eva’s memory may be made to Hospice at HCS, PO Box 564, Keene, NH 03431.
