Florence 'Flo' Martin

Florence B. (Alexander) Martin, 105, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2018 at the Good Shepherd Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Jaffrey.

“Flo” was born on June 28, 1913 in Sherbrook, Quebec, Canada. She moved to Greenville, NH when she was 20 and married her late husband Gifford Martin. Moving around New England, Flo worked at various jobs throughout her life, most recently providing care for elderly before retiring to Jacksonville, VT where she enjoyed gardening, attending auctions and yard sales. She was very active in her Church and local charities. She moved to Peterborough, NH in 1987 where she joined the Union Congregational Church and enjoyed many years with family, friends and cats. She was a talented artist and enjoyed crafts and reading.

Florence is survived by her daughter Nancy Seguin and husband Paul of Peterborough, her daughter Helen Martin and her life partner Robert Dougan of Harwich Port, MA, seven grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and three great, great Grandsons, nieces, and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Gifford Martin, her son, Charles Martin, and granddaughter, Cheryl Newcomb.

At her request, a private graveside service will take place later in Whitingham, VT.
