Frederick ‘Fred’ Hammann, 43, of New Ipswich, NH, died on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 as a result from injuries he sustained in a motorcycle accident.
Fred was born on January 13, 1971 in Amityville, NY, son of Fred and Carol (Kaufmann) Hammann. He graduated from Keene High School and entered the U.S. Navy in 1990. Fred was a Gulf War Veteran and had also served in the Philippines and in Japan.
For the past 8 years, Fred had worked at Millipore Corp. in Jaffrey as a Maintenance Tech and had most recently been transitioning into becoming an Engineering Tech.
He was an avid outdoorsman and loved riding his Harley-Davidson with his wife and friends. Fred enjoyed anything outside in the fresh air - camping, fishing, off-roading, and hiking, were just a few of his interests. He was proud of belonging to AA for more than 10 years.
Fred was preceded in death by his father on December 16, 1999, and by his nephew Kevin Blouin on February 18, 2013.
In addition to his mom, Fred is survived by his wife of 12 years, Michaelle Hammann of New Ipswich; his 2 sons, Kaleb Sather of Oswego, Illinois and Parker Hammann of New Ipswich; his sister Dawn and her husband Geoffrey Van Auken of North Carolina; his niece Nicole Blouin and great-nephew Aiden Taylor, both of North Carolina, and several aunts, uncles, cousins and many close friends. He will definitely be missed by all, especially by his beloved dog, D O Gee.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Fred’s life on Sunday, July 27, 2014 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Cournoyer Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 33 River Street, (Rte. 202 South) Jaffrey, NH 03452.
Burial with Military Honors will take place at the Village Cemetery in Marlow on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at 2:30 pm. Friends with motorcycles are asked to gather at the Cournoyer Funeral Home at 1 PM and the procession will begin at 1:30 pm.
The family has requested in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made in Fred’s name to a trust which has been established for the future education costs of his sons. Please make donations payable to the Hammann Children Fund, c/o TD Bank, 28 Main Street, Jaffrey, NH 03452.
