Gayle A. Evans

Gayle Evans, 82, of Rindge, died peacefully with her family by her side on January 1, 2018 at the Good Shepherd Healthcare Center in Jaffrey after a brief illness.

Gayle was born in Athens, Alabama on October 19, 1935, the daughter of Joseph Tribble and Lilly Mae Gordon. Her father was killed in action during World War II, later she was adopted and raised by her mother and Donald Fisher. Gayle was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Canton, OH. After she moved to New Hampshire from Ashland, OH in 1978, she began working in insurance sales at Automotive Wholesales of New England in Peterborough and eventually retired in 1997.

Gayle always loved playing BINGO but eventually grew to enjoy her occasional visits to Foxwoods for the bigger games of chance.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald L. Evans on February 9, 2008; her son, Jerome ‘Trey’ Frederick on June 30, 2016, and by her grandson, Dylan Evans on January 21, 2012.

Mrs. Evans is survived by her longtime friend and companion, Norbert Crosby of Rindge: her son, Douglas and his wife Lori Evans, and her granddaughter, Sarah Evans, all of Canton, Illinois; her daughter in law, Terry Frederick and grandchildren Nicole Dufault and Kyle Frederick of Rindge, and her great-grandson, Colton Dufault; her sister, Debra Page of London, England, a niece and 2 nephews in England, and many cousins and close friends.

At Gayle’s request, there will be no calling hours.

A Celebration of Gayle’s life will take place on Saturday, January 6, 2018 from 1:00 – 3:00 PM at Emma’s 321 Pub & Kitchen, 377 US Route 202, Rindge, NH 03461.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial contributions be made in Gayle’s name to Hospice at HCS, 312 Marlboro Street, Keene, NH 03431.
