George M. Tabor, 67, of Winchester and formerly of Jaffrey, NH, died peacefully on Sunday, January 5, 2014 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH.
George was born on September 8, 1946 in Peterborough, NH, son of the late Walter and Yvonne (Michaud) Tabor. George attended Conant High School. After graduating in 1964 he went on to join the U.S. Navy and served our country honorably. He was a member of the John Humiston Post 11 of the American Legion and the Jaffrey Memorial VFW Post #5613.
George worked as an electrician for many years at Maki Electric. He loved the company of his close family and friends. He enjoyed fishing, playing cribbage and bocce. George was a huge fan of Pink Floyd.
George is survived by his former wife and friend, Rose “Dolly” Nicolosi-Tabor; his 2 children, Michael G. Tabor and his wife Erin of Jaffrey, NH and Angela R. Caron and her husband Daniel of Winchester, NH; his 2 brothers, Frank Tabor and his wife Rita of Santa Fe, New Mexico, and Rev. John Tabor of Thailand; his 2 sisters, Yvonne Murray and her husband Roger of Dublin, NH and Theresa Weigel and her husband John of Baltimore, MD; 11 grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Friends and family are warmly invited to calling hours on Sunday, January 12, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00PM at the Cournoyer Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 33 River Street, (Route 202) Jaffrey.
A Celebration of George’s life will be held at the Jaffrey VFW Hall on Hathorn Road in Jaffrey on Monday beginning at 3:00 PM.
