Glenna S. Eaves, 81, former long time resident of Dublin, died peacefully Tuesday July 31, 2012 at her residence on Gilmore Pond Road in Jaffrey. She was born July 25, 1931 in Peterborough daughter of the late Glen H. and Helen (Richardson) Scribner. Growing up in Dublin she had attended schools in Dublin and Peterborough. For many years Mrs. Eaves worked as a telephone operator for the former New England Telephone and Telegraph Co in Peterborough. She had also worked at Electro Pac in Peterborough, and was a certified nurse’s aid at various area nursing homes. She was a school crossing guard at the Consolidated School in Dublin and also a bus driver for Laidlaw Transportation Co in Peterborough for many years. Mrs. Eaves was a member of the Dublin Fire Company Auxiliary and also the Dublin Women’s Club. She enjoyed camping, crocheting and knitting. Glenna was an avid CB radio enthusiast whose handle was “The Green Monster”. In her younger years she enjoyed hunting, fishing and snowmobiling. Her husband of thirty three years, Russell F. Eaves died in1985. Survivors include her daughter Nancy E. Campbell and her husband Henry of Dublin; her son James R. Eaves of Kissimmee, FLA; a cousin and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Glenna was predeceased by her son David M. Eaves in 1965, her brother Richard Scribner and her sister Priscilla McQuillen.
In lieu of flowers for those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to either The Dublin Fire Company, Post Office Box 94; or to the Dublin Women’s Club, Post Office Box 121, Dublin NH 03444.
As per her request, there will be no calling hours.
Graveside services will be held, Saturday August 4, 2012 at 11:00AM in the Dublin Cemetery, Dublin NH.
