Gloria Jean Despres

Gloria Jean Stone Despres, 57, of Fitzwilliam, died March 21, 2015 in Manchester, NH after a courageous and hard fought battle with cancer. She was born in Fitzwilliam, NH on August 4, 1957, daughter of the late Stillman and Eleanor (Dunton) Stone, and had lived her entire life in Fitzwilliam. Gloria had worked at Millipore Corp in Jaffrey before starting her own cleaning company and serving many families and businesses in the Monadnock Region. Throughout her life, Gloria was dedicated to her family, her church, and her community. She was a member of the Jaffrey Bible Church and Bethany Bible Chapel in Winchendon, MA. Gloria enjoyed teaching Sunday school and was a leader in 4-H and the local Awana Clubs. She also enjoyed directing many of the skits and musicals at church. Gloria liked sewing and craftwork, as well as singing and travelling around to local sporting events. She loved to help people however she could and would always contribute her time and cookies to the visiting nurse dances and other church functions. In addition to her parents, Gloria was also predeceased by her sister, Mary Stone. Gloria is survived by her husband of 27 years, James A. Despres of Fitzwilliam; her daughters Susanna, Michelle and Melissa, and her sons James and Jonathan, all of Fitzwilliam; her sisters, Ruth Dahlgren and Evelyn Stone, both of Fitzwilliam, Kathy Lussier of Hedgesville, W.V., and Barbara Chase of Chesterfield, NH; her brother Stillman Stone of Fitzwilliam; and many nieces nephews, cousins and friends. Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at the Cournoyer Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 33 River Street, (Rte. 202) Jaffrey. A Funeral Service to celebrate Gloria’s life will be held at the Jaffrey Bible Church, 133 Turnpike Road (Rte. 124) Jaffrey, on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at 10:00 AM.
