Helen T. McCarty

Helen T, McCarty 91, of Concord, NH died peacefully on August 16, 2021, after a long illness at Pleasant View Center in Concord.

She was born on September 9, 1929, in Berlin, NH, the youngest of four children, to Edmund Bell and Nellie (Keenan) Bell. Helen graduated from Berlin High School in 1947 and received her Nursing Cap form Saint Louis Hospital School of Nursing in 1950, specializing in the care of new born infants.

On September 23, 1950, she married Winston H. McCarty of West Milan. Helen retired early from nursing and became a homemaker raising three sons, living in Lisbon, NH, Colebrook, NH, Milford, NH, Derry, NH, Rochester, NH, Manchester, NH and Concord, NH.

Helen was interested in her family ancestry and did extensive research into her family’s genealogy and that of her husbands. She was a long-time member of the American Canadian Genealogy Society.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Oliver Bell, Berlin NH, Robert Bell, Pittsfield, MA, and sister, Florence Wright, Danville, VT.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, Winston McCarty, are sons. Raymond McCarty and wife Karen, Londonderry, NH, Normand McCarty and wife Helen, Sparta, NJ, John McCarty, Rochester, NH; six grandchildren, Jason McCarty, Justin McCarty, Shannon McCarty Drapcho, Kerry McCarty, James McCarty, and Katie Sweet; six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 4, 2021, at 10:00am in Christ the King Parish, 72 South Main Street, Concord, NH 03301. Rev. Richard Roberge, Pastor will be the Celebrant. Burial will take place in West Milan, NH at the convenience of the family.
