Hubert T. Pickford, 91, of Goldmine Road in Dublin, died Friday June 11, 2010 at the Monadnock Community Hospital in Peterborough following a brief illness.
He was born July 29, 1918 in Dublin son of the late Charles and Elizabeth (Murphy) Pickford. Mr. Pickford was a life long resident of this community and was a 1935 graduate of the former Peterborough High School.
He served as a Tech Sergeant with the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a 40 year member of the Cheney Armstrong American Legion Post #5 of Peterborough.
Mr. Pickfords lifelong career was that of a plumber, owning and operating Pickford Plumbing and Heating until he was in his 80s.
He enjoyed puttering around his house. He was never bored as there was always something to do. He kept up with current events, by reading and watching news on TV. He especially enjoyed time spent with his family.
He was a communicant of St. Peters Church of the Divine Mercy Parish.
His wife of sixty two years Anna (Hurley) Pickford died February 21, 2009. Following her death, he continued to live alone and maintained his independence in his own home, right up until last Thursday when he went to the hospital.
He is survived by his two daughters Kathleen Stacy and her husband, Gary of Antrim and Mary Edick and her husband, Bob of Dublin; three grandsons Brian Stacy, Adam Stacy and his wife Kandace and Thomas Edick; a granddaughter Theresa Edick; two great granddaughters Emma and Paytra Stacy; many nieces and nephews including his nephew and close friend Michael Walker and his wife Patricia of Dublin.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Dublin Public Library, Childrens Program, Main Street, P.O. Box 442, Dublin, NH; or to the Dublin Fire and Rescue Company, P.O. Box 94,Dublin, NH 03444.

Calling hours will be from 6:00 to 8:00PM on Wednesday at the Cournoyer Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 33 River Street (Route 202 south) in Jaffrey.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10:00AM in Saint Peter Church of the Divine Mercy Parish, 18 Vine Street, Peterborough. Burial in St. Peters Cemetery will immediately follow.
