Irene 'Robin' Kellner

Peterborough, New Hampshire Irene M. “Robin” Kellner, 85, of Cheney Ave in Peterborough died Tuesday, November 22, 2011, at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Jaffrey after a courageous battle with cancer. Mrs. Kellner was born in Manchester, England on May 3, 1926, daughter of the late Arthur and Eva (Mellor) Liptrott. She had enlisted in the British Land Army in 1943. While serving in Cornwall, England, she met her future husband who was serving in the US Army. At the end of World War II they wed and settled in Saugus, Massachusetts. They later moved to Connecticut where Mrs. Kellner became a naturalized citizen and raised three daughters. Mrs. Kellner had been involved in the Ladies Guild of Divine Mercy Parish at St. Peters, in Peterborough, NH, where she was also recognized in 2002 for receiving the Ethel K Cavanaugh Service Award. Most cherished to Irene was the time she spent with family. Her Husband of 50 years, John Paul Kellner, died January 3, 1996. She was also predeceased by her daughter, Ann M. Geisel, of Greenfield on October 8th 1999. She is survived by her two daughters; Eileen J. Burk of Barnet, VT, and Mary Lou Kellner Gomez of Peterborough, NH; seven grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, two sister-in-laws, Virginia Kellner and Eileen Connolly, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

Burial will follow at Saint Peter’s Cemetery in Peterborough.

Box 662 Peterborough, NH 03458, the St. Vincent de Paul Fund c/o Divine Mercy Parish, 18 Vine Street, Peterborough, or the Peterborough Ambulance, 16 Summer Street, Peterborough, NH 03458.

Family and friends are warmly invited to calling hours on Friday, November 25, 2011 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at the Cournoyer Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 33 River Street, (Route 202) Jaffrey, NH.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at 10:00 AM in Saint Peter's Church of the Divine Mercy Parish, 18 Vine Street, Peterborough. Rev. Gerald Belanger, Pastor, will be the Celebrant.
