James 'Jim' Despres

James A. ‘Jim’ Despres, 58, of Fitzwilliam, NH died suddenly and unexpectedly on August 1, 2017 at the Cheshire Medical Center in Keene while recovering from a stroke.

He was born in Keene, NH on March 18, 1959, son of the late Alphonse and Imogene (McAnally) Despres. Jim was a 1977 graduate of the former Marlborough High School. He married Gloria Stone on August 1, 1987, and had lived in Troy and in Fitzwilliam.

Jim was a man of many talents; he had worked at Troy Mills as a Boiler Technician before venturing into working in sales. He had an extensive home delivery route with Schwan’s Food and later as a Market America Distributor. Eventually he pursued his love of driving by becoming an over-the-road commercial truck driver.

Throughout his life, Jim was dedicated to his wife and family. He enjoyed being outdoors and spent free time hunting, fishing, camping and target shooting. He loved driving, especially driving across our beautiful country.

Jim was preceded in death by his beloved wife Gloria on March 21, 2015.

Jim is survived by his 3 daughters, Susanna and her husband Brian Rozzi, Michelle and Melissa, and by his 2 sons, James and his wife Bilge, and Jonathan; his sister, Ruth and her husband Jeffrey Brigham, and many cousins and close friends.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, August 7, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the Cournoyer Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 33 River Street, (Rte. 202) Jaffrey, NH 03452.

A Funeral Service to celebrate Jim’s life will be held at the Jaffrey Bible Church, 133 Turnpike Road (Rte. 124) Jaffrey, on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery on Royalston Road in Fitzwilliam.
